Today me and the girls made egg carton flowers. The perfect activity to follow a breakfast on the patio of scrambled eggs and bacon!
Empty Egg Carton
Watercolors and brushes
Paper or plastic straws (You could also use a pencil or pen for a fun substitute!)
Step 1: Make the flower petals. Cut each individual section of the carton apart. For each individual piece you will then need to cut four triangles out of the bottom to create the petals. Lastly, use a hole punch to punch a hole in the center of it which will be used for sliding the layer onto the straw. (Ok, so that was really like 3 steps but who’s counting…)
Step 2: Let your kids go wild painting. Each flower will need three layers so keep that in mind!
Step 4: Slide each layer onto the straw and turn them until you find the arrangement you like best. Enjoy! (Tip: If your children will be playing with them a lot, mine used them as fairy wands, you may want to add a dab of hot glue to keep them in place)
